IS SHE IN THERE? I like this short video for three reasons. First of all there is an element of surprise. We did not know weather or not the frames of bees and eggs that we put into the hive on April 9th produced a Queen. Secondly, we find the Queen almost immediately after opening the cover. No boring long search. Finally the Queen is quite clear to see. Most of the bees are about half an inch long, Queenie is slightly bigger measuring in at three quarters of an inch.
