Ever Seen A Bunch of Bees Fanning

After the new queen was put into the hive or the nuc (small hive) the worker bees all started to act a bit peculiar. There was more activity and when we looked down and observed the front of the entrance we saw many of them with their bums pointed up in the air FANNING. That means they were feverishly flapping their wings while being stationary. What they were doing we believe is trying to get there Queen’s scent or pheromones out of the hive and into the air surrounding the hive to alert the bees flying around that a new Queen had arrived.
